Great food. But if you are in a hurry don't take a large group. One wonderful waitress cashiers, serves and busses. She rocks. But don't be in a hurry if it's busy there. Not very surprised how my refried beans smelled and tasted like sweaty socks. To have a meal you can order called Gringos that's just fine, I bet a lot of inexperienced people order that meal all the time. The steak (beef) is very unseasond I don't know how chicken or pork was but Mexican food is about beef, if the beef taste that plain chicken and pork are probably just as much aswell. Another thing is you get 3 soft tacos with more letuce than meat and tiny sprinkle of cheese with a little medium plate of half rice and beans. Which is 18 dollars it would have been better to make my own Mexican food and obviously make sure my refried beans don't smell and taste like sweaty socks. If you want Mexican food in Valdez being a Gringo go to safeway buy the food to make it yourself it will be 5 times better in taste and cheaper in cost. Horribly over-price, even for this town. And to add injury to insult, they keep adding and overcharging for things we never asked for. For example, one of us ordered a regular shrimp dish and they charged $7 extra for using large shrimp which we had never asked for. Also, some of their menus are incorrect. Would not recommend. Always a great experience, friendly service and delicious food. Our family loves Ernesto's. A very quiet and colorful place to eat lunch. Good ambiance. Prices are decent for Alaska.
