When we pulled in there was a wonderful friendly guy that was sitting in the lobby. His name began with an "A". He loves to tease and was extremely helpful in figuring out where to fish and how to fish for salmon. The ladies were also very helpful as they checked us in. This place is truly very nice. They have a great fish cleaning table, laundry room super clean and well equipped, you can wash your RV and tow vehicle at your site, and it is located by Safeway and the gas station. A block away is Easy Freeze where you can take your fish to get packaged and frozen overnight. We have really enjoyed the time here. Nicely run with a very friendly staff. Large park that's mostly gravel and very clean. Hosts are awesome. Fish cleaning tables are a super nice touch since you'll probably catch if you try. As my children say - Valdez isn't "fishing" it's "catching". RV washing at the site OK. Nice. We have been going to Alaska from Florida for summers since 1999. We always end up at Eagle Rest R.V. Park in Valdez. Great owners live on park. Cook outs, fishing charters, whale and sea life tours, fun. Prices are reasonable and sites are suited to your R.V.. We now live in Alaska but drive 500 miles to Eagle Rest R.V. Park to fish each year. We came in to Eagles Rest RV Park on motorcycles after being dumped on with the rain through Thompson Pass and Valdez. We were cold, wet and needed a dry place to stay. We drove up and spoke to Debbie who was very gracious and understanding of our situation. She said it would be better for us to stay in one of their cabins and even gave us the military discount. She was super and I definitely recommend that you stay at this Campground. We were in cabin number eight and the rooms were small but that's okay, there is hot water and a microwave. Would definitely stay here again. Debbie thanks a lot! You're were great we appreciated everything you did for us. Great place to camp in Valdez! Beautiful views. You can purchase glacier tour tickets here as well. Military campers/RVs available through the MWR.
