House on the Rock was clean and easy to find. Our bedroom had a Queen bed and a twin, which met our sleeping needs perfectly. The small bathroom was fine. If you need to do laundry, the use of a shared washer and dryer is included in your stay. Soap is provided. Beautiful wildlife photography from the area decorates the space. Overall, I was disappointed with what we got for the price we paid. I was charged more than I was quoted over the phone once we arrived. Typically, I choose to stay at Bed and Breakfasts for the homey atmosphere, warm hospitality, and home cooked hot breakfasts. If you're looking for that, skip the House on the Rock. Contrary to my other B&B experiences, at House on the Rock you're greeted with a contract and a firm talk about their strict quiet times, limited laundry hours, and no shoe policy. The walls are plain white and aside from the photography, the space feels like a cold, office environment. Aside from coffee or tea, all your breakfast options are cold - cereal, yogurt and bread. Several of the bread options were past their date and the muffin I tried was way beyond its prime. When all four rooms are rented, the kitchen/dining space is very cramped at meal time. I'll certainly be back to Valdez - it's beautiful, but I think I'll be looking for a different place to stay. What a wonderful place to stay. Very clean rooms, and you'll be surrounded by good people. Wouldn't wanna stay anywhere else. Home away from home. First time at a B&B, was cautious at first not sure, but man was I wrong, it's cozy and nice like being in a hotel but better if you ask me! Very clean and beds are comfortable. Very nice host. Good breakfast and other facilities. The house is clean.
